1. Professional Scope & Regulatory Framework
Educational Mentoring: Aurum Mindfulness provides wellbeing education, coaching, and mentoring. While the founder, Dr. Jamie Brown, is a registered medical doctor, these services are non-clinical.
No Doctor-Patient Relationship: Participation in any course, workshop, or mentoring session does not establish a doctor-patient relationship. Dr. Brown cannot provide medical diagnoses, psychiatric treatment, or prescriptions.
Professional Boundaries: Participants must confirm that they are not a current or recent clinical patient of Dr. Jamie Brown.
Continuity of Care: You must remain under the care of your existing GP or clinical mental health team. This course is an educational program and not a substitute for clinical psychiatric treatment or crisis intervention.
2. Registration & Payment
Pre-Registration Screening: All participants must complete a screening process prior to booking. Potentials participants self-screen with reference to ‘Is mindfulness right for me?' document to assess if the course is a good fit for them at the moment. Aurum Mindfulness reserves the right to determine if a group setting is inappropriate for an applicant's current needs.
The Booking Fee: Once your registration is approved following screening, a £50 non-refundable booking fee is required to secure your place.
Final Balance: The remaining balance is due 14 days before the course start date. Failure to pay the balance may result in the loss of your place.
3. Cancellations & Consumer Rights
Cooling-Off Period: Under the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations, you have a 14-day "cooling-off" period from the date of payment to cancel and receive a full refund.
Service Commencement Waiver: If you book a course that begins within 14 days of your payment, you explicitly agree to waive the remainder of your cooling-off period so that the service (provision of course materials and seat reservation) can begin.
Standard Cancellations: Once the 14-day cooling-off period has passed, all fees are non-refundable.
4. Neuro-Inclusive Practice & Accessibility
Adjustments: We are committed to neuro-affirming practices. Please ensure any sensory or communication preferences (e.g., camera-off, movement breaks) have been discussed during your intake.
Self-Regulation: Participants are encouraged to engage in a way that supports their unique nervous system.
5. Participant Responsibilities & Safety
Physical Safety: You are responsible for ensuring your physical environment is safe for movement.
Psychological Safety: Mindfulness can be intensive. You agree to monitor your own wellbeing and inform the teacher if you feel overwhelmed.
Crisis Protocol: Aurum Mindfulness is not a crisis service. In the event of a mental health emergency, you must contact your GP or local emergency services.
6. Confidentiality & Group Conduct
Peer Privacy: You agree to keep the identities and personal disclosures of other participants strictly confidential.
Removal from Course: We reserve the right to remove any participant whose behavior is disruptive to the group’s safety or learning. In this rare event, no refund will be issued.
